Rayak ("we", "us") operates the Rayak community reviews platform. This policy explains what personal data we handle and your rights over it.

• Account data: email address, display name, and authentication identifiers.
• Profile data: optional details such as full name, phone, building/unit context, and avatar.
• Reviews: the ratings, written content, and metadata (resident status, household type, move-in date, rent range) you submit.
• Verification documents: if you upload proof of residence, the file is stored privately and only reviewed by our moderation team.
• Technical data: standard server logs (IP, user agent, timestamps) used for security and abuse prevention.

• To operate the platform — account creation, sign-in, displaying reviews.
• To moderate content and prevent abuse.
• To verify resident status when you ask to be marked as verified.
• To respond to your messages and suggestions.

We do not sell your data and we do not show third-party advertising.

Data is stored on our managed cloud backend (Supabase / Lovable Cloud), with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Servers may be located outside Qatar.

We share data only with:

• Our backend infrastructure providers (under contract).
• Authentication providers if you sign in via a third party (e.g. Google).
• Authorities when legally required.

Reviews you publish are visible to all visitors of Rayak. Your display name is shown publicly with your reviews; other profile fields stay private unless you choose otherwise.

We use only the cookies and local storage strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies.

• Access — request a copy of your data.
• Correction — fix inaccurate data via your profile or by contacting us.
• Deletion — request removal of your account and personal data.
• Withdraw consent at any time.

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Reviews may remain published anonymously after account deletion to preserve community history, unless you ask for their removal.

Rayak is not intended for users under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify users on the platform.
